![]() ![]() ![]() So I am going to give a very brief over view of my workflow. But I get a lot from photography, and I get an equal amount of satisfaction from educating and coaching other photographers. Some photographers keep it a closely guarded secret. I spent more time deciding if I liked the results than accomplishing the feat! Download the free trial and give it a try for yourself.I am often asked during talks, workshops and often online how I created a photograph. ![]() I blended this layer with the one below using the Color Burn option and dialed down the opacity to 53%. Clicking OK again, I returned to Photoshop, new layer created with my modifications. I visited Viveza once more and bumped up the saturation and warmth of the sconce. Then back to Photoshop with an OK, creating a separate layer with my modifications. I added a point to the sconce at the end of the cobblestone walk to brighten and bring out the details. I added an adjustment point to one bench, created some sparkle, and copied the point to the second bench (with the adjustments). I added points to the Curves and Levels curve and created a gentle S shape to improve tone and contrast, remove the blue cast and return the plaster walls to white. With a few simple adjustments I transformed this drab shot into an interesting image with focus. I liked the composition, but it was rather dull and flat. To give Viveza a test run, I chose an image from my point and shoot camera that I took last week. While working on an image, click and unclick the preview tic box to see the before and after. When working in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, there is a Paint button available allowing you to paint in an effect based on slider selections. You may work in RGB or select an individual color channel. Delete points or undo an adjustment as you wish. Add a point to the curve to modify tone and contrast. You can duplicate and move control points around the image, as well as group them for simultaneous modifications.Ī levels and curves dialog (a curve placed over a histogram), is integrated into the interface. The sliders (both global and attached to the control point), allow you to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, structure (details), shadows, warmth, red, green, blue, and hue. The Quickstart Guide may be downloaded as a PDF file and is truly a hand-holder in showing you how to use the plugin for applying global or targeted adjustments to your image. To quickly get up and running I visited to view videos of all the features. We left it that I would call back at a later date to address the LR 4 install and to resolve the Viveza error message that accompanies starting up Photoshop.Īside from the nightmare install, this plugin is so simple to use that I can forgive the rough beginning. She took control of my laptop and spent over an hour getting the plugin to work in Photoshop, but no success with Lightroom. I was fortunate to have Nazah at the other end of my call. After uninstalling, rebooting, and trying again to install, but without success, I called tech support. I opened the same image in Photoshop 5.5 and was presented with an error message and the floating Viveza panel, but the panel was not responsive. The installation process seemed to go OK, but when I opened an image in Lightroom 4, Viveza was not to be found. My challenge was getting Viveza installed onto my laptop. While there are other ways to bring your changes into the host program, this one would be my recommendation. In options you may choose to create a new layer in Photoshop with the Viveza changes when clicking the OK button. The program appears to use a very smart algorithm based on color and proximity to create a selection for you to modify. The technology enables you to point your mouse at the area of the image that you want to modify, click, and make your changes. It is a plugin for Adobe® Photoshop®, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom®, and Apple® Aperture®. This nifty little tool allows you to quickly make modifications to your images. ![]()
